Google’s third release of the Android native development kit (NDK) was announced yesterday. The latest NDK now offers support for the OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics standard, in order to allow for a much improved graphics experience for mobile games on compatible Android devices.

The Android NDK is used as a companion tool to the Android software development kit (SDK), and allows the Android app developers to turn Android phones into very capable mobile gaming devices. NDK Revision 3 (r3) covers devices operating on Android 1.5 or higher, but OpenGL ES 2.0 is only available for devices running Android 2.0 or higher.

You can download Android NDK r3 for Windows, Mac or Linux on the Android developers website.
