Apple has announced that it has sold over two million iPads. It took Apple less than a month to hit the million mark and sticking to that blistering sales tempo, they reached the two million mark in less than two months.

This announcement comes on the back of Cupertino launching the device in nine new countries last Friday. Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK joined the US to help Apple reach the two million mark.
 
Apple's two million achievement comes less than 60 days after the device launched on 3 April in the States. “Customers around the world are experiencing the magic of iPad, and seem to be loving it as much as we do,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s cofounder and CEO. “We appreciate their patience, and are working hard to build enough iPads for everyone.”
 
In July a further nine markets will get to experience the iPad, as it will be rolling out in Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore.
