Backup your mobile data
By Mike Joubert 11 June 2009 | Categories: newsSpescom have launched a voice recording and backup mobile app.
With smartphones coming pretty close to small handheld personal computers, Spescom have come up with a way to “backup” your text, pictures and most importantly telephone conversations online. ReMo is a mobile application aimed at people doing business from their phone. It uploads data to a secure vault online that can be accessed via login and encrypted password.
Once installed no user interaction is required- ReMo simply uploads data as it is produced. Online you can listen to conversations, download your content, delete or search for your data. All your data is date- and time-stamped, and ReMo provides an encrypted signature to the recording, making it possible to detect tampering.
For now ReMo only works on Nokia smartphones that make use of the Symbian S60 Operating System. Spescom is working on other platforms such as Windows, Android, RIM.
ReMo Personal comes at a cost of R49 per month and the Professional version at R99. For a free 30-day trial visit: www.removault.co.za.
