Research In Motion (RIM) today announced the Blackberry Storm2, which should be hitting our shores just in time for Xmas.

Since typing on the original Storm’s touch-screen wasn’t a joy at all we\'re glad that RIM has addressed this with improvements on the Storm2\'s SurePress technology. Tactile feedback is said to be better, allowing for more accurate typing, and it will also allow multi-key actions, for example Alt- and Shift key combinations, as well as multi-touch typing.

Another key improvement is the inclusion of Wi-Fi which rounds off a full range of connectivity options. This Storm2 will run on Blackberry OS 5 allowing for a number of hardware and software enhancements.

Some of the phone\'s other features include:
•    A 3.25\'\' high-resolution display
•    A 3.2 megapixel camera with variable zoom, auto focus, flash and video recording
•    2 GB of onboard memory storage and a memory card slot that supports cards up to 32 GB
•    A 3.5 mm jack and dedicated volume controls
•    And built-in GPS for maps as well as photo geotagging.

The BlackBerry Storm2 will be available from Vodacom and MTN. No word yet on exact release date.
