According to AppleInsider, the next version of the Apple iPad tablet computer seems likely to support a built-in camera, something sorely missed on the first model.

The reason behind AppleInsider’s claim stems from an Apple iPad management policy document which makes mention of the device’s ability to use a camera.

To cement their point AppleInsider also cited a new job listing from Apple for a “Performance QA engineer, iPad Media”. The job listing mentions still, video and audio capture and playback skills required for the position.

If the next version of the iPad does indeed come out with a camera, it’s likely to be forward facing so users can use applications such as FaceTime for video calling.
