Cell C is extending its HSPA+ coverage in the Western Cape with the launch of its network in two new towns. Customers living in Paarl, or its companion in the heart of the Cape Winelands, Wellington, will from now have access to very fast internet connections on Cell C's HSPA+ 900 network.

“We have covered all the major metro cities in the country, and the launch in Paarl and Wellington marks the start of the second phase of our rollout covering smaller towns across the country,” said Simon Camerer, Cell C's executive head of marketing.

Cell C stated that although Paarl and Wellington are the focus coverage areas, surrounding lands will likely also experience connectivity thanks to the rollout of the network in the 900 MHz frequency, which provides for wider coverage and deeper in-door penetration.

Camerer said Cell C outlets and participating retailers in both Paarl and Wellington are stocked, offering a range of data products starting from R749 once-off for 3 GB of data and a Cell C USB data speedstick.

In related news Cell C also recently announced that Kimberley will be the first city in the Northern Cape to benefit from its broadband services, with the launch of the company’s H+900 network in that city.
