The new Vostro 3000 series, which was launched by Dell South Africa today, is squarely aimed at business users. The notebooks, which are available in 13”, 15” and 17” form factors, boast twelve hours of battery life and include Intel 2nd generation Core series processors.

Connected Collaboration

According to the company, the notebooks are intended to serve small-business users who require real-time information exchange, collaboration and connectivity. To this end, the business-centric notebooks feature voice enhancing technology in the form of SRS Premium Voice Pro software, an HD webcam and a digital array microphone, which the company claims helps reduce ambient noise.

Dell's new 15" 3550 in a bronze finish is geared towards business users.

Gavin Slevin, Dell South Africa and developing countries retail manager, pointed out that it was critical for small and mid-sized businesses to be able to connect with their clients and employees regardless of location or time zone.

In keeping with its aim to be the definitive business collaboration notebook, the Vostro 3000 series comes with Skype pre-installed.
 
A Dash of Colour

Furthermore, any VoIP or video conferencing application can be launched via a customisable dashboard button. Additional features include a chiclet keyboard, switchable graphics, DDR3 memory, USB 3.0 ports and a built-in finger-print reader.

The notebooks have an aluminium finish and are available in a choice of three colors – Aberdeen Silver, Lucerne Red and Brisbane Bronze.

The 13” 3350 has a RRP OF R11 000, the 15” 3550 has a RRP OF R10 000 and the 17” 3750 has a RRP of R12 000.
