Discovery Vitality and Cell C have announced the launch of VitalityMobile, a partnership that will give Vitality members access to free calls when calling other VitalityMobile members.

For a fee of R29 per month, VitalityMobile customers that have signed up for a Cell C Straight Up 100, 200, 400 or 800 contract will be able to make free calls to other VitalityMobile customers. They can also expect a boost of 50% with a minimum of 100 MB on top of their normal data allocation, depending on the Straight Up package they have purchased. This applies to integrated voice and data packages as well as data only packages.

VitalityMobile is available to all 1.6 million Vitality members in South Africa across fitness levels and Vitality statuses.

With Cell C’s Straight Up packages, even if customers call outside of their VitalityMobile network, they will be able to make use of the 99c all-day flat rate to any network at any time. Calls are billed on a pure per second basis.

According to Alan Knott-Craig, CEO of Cell C: “Cell C is pleased to partner with a dynamic business like Discovery Vitality. We are excited to be able to create an offering for Discovery Vitality’s extensive, high-value customer base as well as bring innovative new ideas to market. Mobile technologies will play a key role for healthcare in SA in the coming years and Cell C is glad to be paving the way with a partner like Discovery.”
