EA Sports have expanded their Active franchise, the company’s fitness workout programme for the Nintendo Wii, with the release of Active More Workouts.

The aptly named Active More Workouts is an expansion pack that sees the addition of over 35 new exercises and fitness activities. The activities are designed to add value to your overall workout in order for you to obtain the best possible results. There’s cool new down/warm up stations, abdominal exercises as well as a six-week Challenge EA SPORTS Active More Workouts programme, which entails a full body, complete workout experience.

The new addition also features compatibility with EA SPORTS Active Personal Trainer, allowing you to earn rewards for your progress with EA SPORTS Active Personal Trainer, and also to add more details that will be transferred via More Workouts including your age, weight, name and gender. It will also recognise your workout information from the previous 4 weeks with EA SPORTS Active Personal Trainer, so you get to keep the trophies you already collected and your completed goals, meaning you don’t have to start afresh. The EA SPORTS Active leg strap and resistance band aren\'t included on EA SPORTS Active More Workouts, but they are required for use with the game. These are available on EA SPORTS Active Personal Trainer or the EA SPORTS Active Accessory Pack.

Finally there’s the Fitness Book, from which you’ll be able to get fitness and nutrition instructions and information provided by experts. The Fitness Book will supply you with tips, tricks and advice on good nutrition and fitness.

Active More Workouts should be near the top of your list as a means to work off the Christmas and New Years celebratory meals and booze. You and a friend could even create your own version of the biggest loser, where one uses EA Sports Active More Workouts and the other one uses Wii Fit Plus. The recommended retail price is R399.
