Facebook chat taken to the next level
By Johan Keyter 18 August 2010 | Categories: newsVideo chat website, Rounds (previously known as 6rounds), recently launched an extension of their Rounds platform, this time integrating their video chat software directly into Facebook.
Users of the Rounds Facebook application will be able to start video conversations in their web browser without downloading any additional software or browser plug-ins.
Their co-browsing utility which has been a staple of the Rounds offering is also included in the Facebook integration, this allows two users to video chat while they’re playing games, watching YouTube videos or even using Google Maps together.
On top of the standard Rounds video features, users of the Facebook application will also be able to co-browse Facebook profiles. This means that two users (at least one needs to be friends with the person being browsed) can look at another person’s profile together, browsing through their photo’s, videos and profile within the Rounds interface. The app also has support for taking photo stills from the video stream which can be posted to users’ walls.
This Facebook app can come in handy for Facebook users who do not use Skype. It can be downloaded here.
