Facebook releases updated Facebook for Android app

Amongst other new features, the company stated that it will now enable users to navigate the social network faster and get an enhanced view of their friends’ photos.

According to Facebook, photos and albums load up to two times faster compared to the previous Android-based app and by employing it users will also be able to share photos easier, as well as view comments and edit captions whilst on the go.
Messages and notifications are now at the top of the screen, allowing users to respond to messages or posts and stay updated without having to leave the page that they are currently viewing. The news feed, groups, games and apps are now accessible to users from the new left-hand menu.
The updated Facebook for Android app is now available on Android Market and requires Android 1.5 (Cupcake) or better to be installed on your device.
In related news from the social networking front pop princess Britney Spears recently dethroned Google co-founder and CEO Larry Page as the most followed person on the search giant’s Google+ social network.
