Fashionable new Nokias
By Hanleigh Daniels 26 November 2009 | Categories: newsNokia announced two new devices earlier this week, the 6700 and 7230. The devices are aimed, according to the Finnish handset manufacturer, at the style-conscious mobile user who also craves social networking connectivity.
The Nokia 6700 comes in six colours, including pink, red, petrol blue, aluminium, lime and purple. This slender slider features a compact, modern design weighing in at 110 g with measurements of 95.2 x 46 x 15.9 mm. But the phone isn’t just a pretty face since it also includes a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, dual LED flash and auto-focus. While it only has 45 MB of internal memory, it does support MicroSD memory cards up to 16 GB.
The Nokia 7230 sports a similar brushed metal looks, but with a more feminine touch. Weighing just 100 g, this 98 x 48 x 14.75 mm phone comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera, a 2.4" TFT display and internet connectivity via 3G. You can post your pics on the web using the phone via Ovi Share, Flickr or Facebook.
Nokia is looking to release both phones in the first quarter of 2010 with a price tag of about 160 Euro (approx. R1 800) for the 6700 and 100 Euro (about R1 100) for the 7230. There’s no word on availability and pricing for South Africa yet.
