It’s not even been two months since the release of Firefox 3.6.2, but Mozilla are already giving us a sneak peak at the plans for their next version of their popular browser. According to a slideshow by Mike Beltzner, software designer and director of Firefox, version 4 is going to be “fast, powerful and empowering” and allows for simpler, cleaner and speedier navigation.

Version 4 incorporates HTML 5 technology and will feature multi-touch support, background updates, geolocation and the ability to backup as well as share your user info via Firefox Sync.

Beltzner did however state that these plans for version 4 of the browser might change, so they should be taken as an indicator for the direction in which the company is heading with Firefox. The presentation also reveals that the beta release for Firefox version 4 is set for June.
