Electronic Arts (EA) has sold over five million copies of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 globally, while also already nearing the two million mark in worldwide copies sold for EA Sports 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. This despite the game not even being out for a month yet.

These figures have become available via Electronic Arts' Q4 and fiscal year 2010 results that it released yesterday. The company's sales for these periods were driven by the release of Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Mass Effect 2, Dante’s Inferno as well as their digital businesses.

“Battlefield: Bad Company 2 outperformed [our expectations], which contributed to revenue at the high end of our guidance range, and we exceeded our expectations on the bottom line,” said John Riccitiello, CEO of EA.
