Batman: Arkham Asylum sequel drops in 2011
 
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that Batman: Arkham City will be the follow-up to the widely acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum, and should be released for the Xbox 360, Windows PC and PlayStation 3 in Fall (our spring) 2011.
 
Featuring new gameplay, the game is being developed by Rocksteady Studios and is set in the heart of Gotham City.
 
Spitting your rhymes for the virtual crowd
 
According to IGN, 4mm Games, Terminal Reality and Def Jam Interactive have announced the additional tracks that will be available in Def Jam Rapstar, an interactive Hip Hop music game.
 
Def Jam Rapstar will feature over 40 Hip Hop songs such as Public Enemy’s Fight The Power, Nas’s Hate Me Now as well as Diddy (featuring The Notorious B.I.G., Lil’ Kim & The Lox) with It’s All About The Benjamins. It will also allow players to filfull their dreams of being a rapstar by letting them rap infront of their console’s camera add-on and upload the video to the Def Jam Rapstar community.
  
Redmond files application patent for Kinect
 
Microsoft has filed a patent for its motion-based, controller-less gaming system Kinect for the Xbox 360. According to Engadget, the patent application was filed last year on 23 February and went public yesterday.
 
The patent application describes a “gesture keyboarding” situation in which players can make gestures which are captured by a “depth camera” and converted into in-game controls.
 
Kratos to arrive in time for Xmas
 
Fans of the God of War franchise can ready themselves for the latest instalment - God of War: Ghost of Sparta for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). Ghost of Sparta will reveal the origins of Kratos and will be released on 2 November in the US according to a post on the official US PlayStation blog by Ken Chan, the associate product manager at Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA). 
 
Join six of your mates and take on Dracula
 
Konami Digital Entertainment announced on Wednesday that Castlevania Harmony of Despair is now available for download via the Xbox Summer of Arcade program. The game will be available exclusively for Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360.
 
Castlevania Harmony of Despair features high definition 2D graphics and introduces Online Cooperative Play to the franchise. Within this mode users can play with up to six other people as vampire hunters taking on Dracula.
