Skyrim details unveiled

Bethesda's upcoming role playing game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, is looking like one of 2011's most promising fantasy adventures. According to Gamersmint, a ton of info about the game has recently been revealed, and fans of Oblivion is going to like what they hear.

Some of the new game's features include:
  • When you kill a dragon you’re able to absorb its soul which will give you a new “dragon shout” ability.
  • Telekinesis is an assured spell.
  • No more agility to build up so you can assume that the game involves less jumping.
  • There is a perk that will lower the sound of your footsteps.
  • Bleak Falls Barrows is an ancient Nord catacombs which features rivers, tree roots coming through the ceiling and light coming through odd cracks.
  • 120 Dungeons and Bethesda claims that ‘no two areas will be alike’.
A couple of new skills were also confirmed for the game, these include Alchemy, Illusion, Conjuration, Destruction, Restoration, Alteration and Enchanting. If the phenomenal success of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is anything to go by, Skyrim is going to be one to watch. The game will be released on the 11th of November for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Is that egg on your face?

Kevin Butler, VP of basically everything over at Sony, and holder of some of the most hilarious corporate titles ever, recently made a bit of an embarrassing mistake, publicly on Twitter of course.

Chatting with Twitter user @exiva, the sly twitterite managed to trick Mr. Butler into retweeting the damning PlayStation 3 METLDR root key, the very thing that has been causing Sony's recent hacker troubles. Apparently, Butler had been duped into playing a form of Battleship with @exiva, only to retweet the offending rootkey to the world.

Fallout from the incident is not expected to be too great, but perhaps Sony should consider informing employees a bit better on a few of its more 'delicate' matters.

Homefront 'New Resistance' trailer released

Upcoming THQ first person shooter Homefront has been in the news quite a bit recently, with gamers getting more and more excited about the title and its interesting storyline. Homefront will tell the story of the “second American Revolution” and sees the player fighting as a concerned U.S. citizen against North Korean invaders.

A new trailer for the game was recently released, showing some incredible footage of first person and vehicular combat, including tanks, helicopters and even a Predator Drone at the end. The game is releasing on the 15th of March for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and you can check out the new trailer below.
