Google is investigating an issue that resulted in many Gmail users’ account info being deleted. 
 
According to TechSpot this probe follows numerous user complaints that their messages, attachments, as well as Google Chat logs that have been wiped out.
 
The search giant issued a warning via its App Status Dashboard, concerning the lost user data.
 
“Google Mail service has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users in the near future,” the post reads.
 
“Please note this time frame is an estimate and may change. This issue affects less than 0.08% of the Google Mail userbase. Google engineers are working to restore full access. Affected users may be temporarily unable to sign in while we repair their accounts.”
 
TechSport stated that Google has north of 170 million users, meaning although the problem only effects under 0.08% of them, this still amounts to more than 100 000 user accounts affected.
