While the gaming world is still reeling from yet another Gran Turismo 5 delay, rumours arise that some two-wheeld action might be introduced to the game as part of future DLC (downloadable content).

According to CVG, Polyphony Digital says that it designed Gran Turismo 5 with motorcycles in mind, and although they won't be playable in the final game, the studio is keen to introduce them somewhere down the line.

"The environment we have right now allows us to drive motorcycles, but we need to get Gran Turismo 5 done first," Polyphony head, Kazunori Yamauchi told PSM3 magazine recently. "Once that's out of the way, if there's a strong demand for bikes, that's something we'd consider."

GT5 is being toted as the ultimate racing simulator, featuring over 800 digitally reconstructed cars.

The highly anticipated PlayStation 3 title has been delayed until late 2010, no word is yet out as to a final release date.
