HP expands business notebook series with ProBook 5320M
By Johan Keyter 25 June 2010 | Categories: newsEarlier this week HP announced its newest addition to its business notebook series, the ultra-thin HP ProBook 5320M.
At just 23.5 mm thick and weighing a paltry 1.7 kg the Probook 5320M is one of HPs thinnest business notebooks to date. It features an anodised brushed aluminium finish with a 13.3” LED high-definition display and a full-sized spill-resistant keyboard.
Even with its ultra-thin form factor customers can benefit from full processor performance features such as Intel TurboBoost (i5 model only) and Hyper-Threading technology. It also includes an external HP USB, CD and DVD drive and a VGA port or ‘DisplayPort’ for quick and easy connection to projectors.
Helping you connect you to the online business environment the Probook 5320M also features integrated HP Mobile Broadband powered by Gobi, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless technology.
Keeping business security in mind, the 5320M features a suite of HP ProtectTools preloaded onto the machine. This allows customers to enable features such as BIOS passwords, single log-on and a credential manager to manage user passwords for websites, applications and files. And in the event that the notebook is lost or stolen, personal data is protected with drive encryption while a fingerprint scanner and facial recognition system aids in secure and easy user authentication.
Environmentally speaking the 5320M is manufactured free of brominated flame retardants (BFRs) and polyvinyl chloride (PVCs). It is also Energy Star certified and is built with 90 percent recyclable materials.
A range of battery options are available with the 5320M and its Lithium-polymer batteries contribute to the remarkably thin design. If you require extended battery life an optional six-cell extended battery is also available which HP claims will have up to 11 hours of battery life.
No local pricing or availability is currently available.
