The HP Compaq Mini 110c netbook has just been announced for the SA market.

We had a blast with HP’s stylish Vivienne Tam Mini 1000 netbook so we have high expectations of the Mini 110c.

The 110c has a more corporate look to it, in fact the 110c’s look is one of the first things mentioned on the release from HP. They state - “an exquisite casing adorned with HP’s durable high-gloss Imprint finish available in the striking black checked design of Unity”. Basically a cryptic way of saying that it looks nice as there is a bit of a pattern on the lid.

Apart from smooth styling the 110c features some good looking specs, seeing that this netbook runs on the latest Intel Atom processor (1.66GHz N280) and includes a 92% full size keyboard, WLAN and a 160GB hard disk.

It is 33 mm thick and tips the scales at 1.17 kg, with battery included. The Mini 110c features a 10.1” BrightView display, an acceptable 3 USB ports and even a handy 5-in-1 card reader. An HD Video Accelerator as well as WWAN, which should enable 3G communication, are available as optional extras. It runs on the old favourite XP Home.

The HP Compaq Mini 110c should hit stores mid-June, with an RRP of R3999.
