The internet is abuzz with talk of the latest offering from HTC, the HD2, which runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 and will be available from November in South Africa. 

The hype around the HD2 is due to three things. Firstly, it’s the first Windows phone utilising HTC Sense. Secondly, it sports a large 4.3" high-resolution capacitive touch-screen.  Finally, it has a sublime Qualcomm 1 GHz Snapdragon processor.

An example of how HTC Sense improves your mobile experience is its ability to display individual communication snapshots of your conversations with contacts, whether those conversations took place via a call, while texting, during the update of your Facebook status or email. Peep, HTC’s Twitter application, is included on the phone as well, so you can follow tweets on the go and keep your status updated. 

The HD2 is the first Windows Mobile device to utilise a capacitive touch-screen display which comes with the advantages of multi-touch and greater accuracy. At long last, no longer is a stylus a must for operating a Windows Mobile device. Reportedly, typing on the virtual keyboard is also faster and more accurate. 

The HD2 makes use of Qualcomm’s new 1 GHz Snapdragon mobile processor, ensuring faster operation of applications, videos, games and more. You’ll also be able to download a plethora of apps at the new Windows Marketplace for Mobile.
