Intel today introduced another processor in its Atom stable, the N470.

The new processor is basically a faster Atom processor for netbooks that, just like the other processors in the series, sports integrated graphics built directly into the CPU. The reasoning behind this, according to Intel, is that it allows for improved system performance and secondly, leads to smaller, more energy-efficient designs for netbooks.

The N470 features a single core running at 1.83 GHz, has 512 k of L2 cache, with support for DDR2. Intel also stated that some major OEMs are expected to introduce netbooks that are based on the N470 processor in the coming months, but didn't specify any manufacturers.
