LG launches ARX9000 AV Receiver system locally
By Hanleigh Daniels 11 November 2011 | Categories: newsLG Electronics South Africa launched its new ARX9000 AV Receiver system last night at an event held at Hush in Rosebank, Johannesburg.
The Korean company’s ARX9000 system has been specifically designed for the South African market and is the upgraded version of the LG ARX 8000 AV system. It boasts a chic, glossy black design, and is capable of a foundation-shaking 1580 Watt of sound power.
This 7.2 channel multi-directional surround sound system also features a specialised horn compression tweeter that will bring about a direct clear sound according to LG and has three HDMI connection inputs to amplify the sounds from your devices, such as your Xbox 360, HDTV and Blu-ray player. Its Dual Duct system assists in delivering a more powerful bass sound.
The LG AV Receiver system will be available at most leading retail outlets before the end of this year. Prospective buyers can expect recommended retail prices for the units with a DVD player to be R8499, and R8999 for systems equipped with a Blu-ray player.
Besides unveiling this new AV Receiver, LG announced its sponsorship of the SoweTOP10 music show on Soweto TV, which is on channel 150 on DSTV. This 48 minute show will provide viewers with a music video chart show, with a mix of local and international music videos. The chart will be determined by the viewers through a SMS voting system. Local artists and DJs will be featured and interviewed on the show.
“We believe the partnership with SoweTOP10 fits perfectly with LG’s brand as a consumer Electronics Company focused on home entertainment,” said JM Lee, CEO of LG Electronics SA.
