News: Logitech announces its wireless Solar Keyboard K750

Peripheral maker Logitech has introduced its Wireless Solar Keyboard K750, which is the Swiss company’s first light-powered keyboard. It makes use of an integrated solar panel in order to employ light (even indoor light) as its power source.

According to Logitech the solar keyboard will stay charged for up to three months in total darkness and also boasts an integrated power-indicator light to keep users informed as to its power levels.

This 7.5 mm thick keyboard also features the company’s comfortable Incurve keys and 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity, virtually eliminating delays and dropouts.

“The keyboard is still the best input device for typing emails and IMs, updating your Facebook page or posting responses to your favourite blogs — and the Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 is the next big innovation in keyboard technology,” said Leslie Smyth, sales & marketing manager - Southern Africa developed countries.

“The Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard is powered by light but can work in total darkness for up to three months. Plus, with its PVC-free construction and fully recyclable packaging, it’s designed to minimize its footprint.”

The Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 is expected to be available in South Africa in January 2011 for a suggested retail price of R896.
