News: Logitech unveil the Wireless Trackball M570

Logitech today unveiled its Wireless Trackball M570, which utilises a ball as opposed to a surface to enable the laser tracking sensor to guide cursor movement.

This means that users will have precise cursor control on almost any service from hard tables and comfortable sofas through to lumpy unmade beds. Another benefit of the device is that users don’t have to move their arms in order to move the on-screen cursor, meaning that this M570 doesn’t need a great amount of desk space.

“Based on overwhelming demand from our dedicated trackball users, we’re delighted to announce the introduction of a new wireless trackball – the Logitech Wireless Trackball M570,” said Leslie Smyth, sales & marketing manager for the Southern Africa developed countries.

“Everything about our newest trackball is built to improve the experience and give trackball enthusiasts the comfort and control they deserve.”

The M570 sports a scroll wheel, Back/Forward buttons for making surfing the Web a little easier and also features a small Logitech Unifying wireless receiver, enabling users to make use of it from up to 9 m away from their PC.

Logitech claims that the M570 can be used for up to 18 months before having to replace the included AA battery. It also boasts a handy battery indicator to ensure that users aren’t caught off guard when eventually it runs flat.

The company’s Wireless Trackball M570 is expected to be locally available in November for a suggested retail price of R770.
