Logitech unveiled its Surround Sound Speakers Z906 today, which offers users 500 watts (RMS) of sound power. These Z906 speakers are THX Certified, meaning that users will be able to experience “a theatre-quality audio experience” in their living rooms.

Onboard 5.1 digital decoding enables detailed surround sound for Dolby digital or DTS encoded soundtracks. An enhanced bass performance will also be provided via the ported, side-firing subwoofer that delivers 165 watts of distortion-free bass.

The Logitech Surround Sound Speakers Z906 allows users to connect up to six audio devices at the same time, such as a TV, DVD, Blu-Ray player, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, iPod and notebook PC. The Z906’s design makes it easy to stack the speakers on top of each other and also integrates a simple-to-read display.

A wireless remote rounds off the package, enabling users to control their listening experience without having to get up to change settings for instance.

“We’re delighted to offer consumers a successor to the highly acclaimed Logitech Z-5500 Digital 5.1 Speaker System,” said Leslie Smyth, Logitech sales manager for Southern Africa and developing countries.

“The Logitech Surround Sound Speakers Z906 are the logical evolution of surround sound speakers, and we’re confident they will become an indispensable part of the living room.”

Availability

Logitech’s Surround Sound Speakers Z906 is expected to become locally available during July of this year for a suggested retail price of R 3 515. Visit www.logitech.com for more info.
