MTN launches iPad Retina Display and iPad mini in SA
By Hanleigh Daniels 6 February 2013 | Categories: newsMTN has announced the launch of Apple’s iPad with Retina Display, which is already available in store and will soon be joined by the iPad mini that is due to be released later this month.
The fourth generation iPad boasts a few improvements over the third generation model (review) including Apple’s snappier A6X processor, as well as the new, smaller Lightning Connector port at the bottom of the tablet, whilst it runs iOS 6 out of the box. Cupertino’s iPad mini boasts similar specs to that of the iPad 2 (non-Retina 1024 x 768 resolution and A5 CPU, review) except in a more grip-friendly form-factor of a 7.9" screen.

MTN stated that deals for the Apple iPad mini will be announced closer to the time of launch.

In other Apple related news, the latest data from market research firm Strategy Analytics recently revealed that Cupertino became the number one mobile phone vendor for the first time ever Stateside, as the iPhone maker captured a record 34% market share during Q4 2012.
