By Staff Writer 11 May 2011 | Categories: newsMTN South Africa has announced that it will be introducing the white version of the iPhone 4, in “a matter of weeks” at selected MTN stores across the country. The ivory coloured iPhone 4 is expected to become locally available as of Friday, 20 May 2011.
Subscribers of MTN will be able to get this smartphone on contract, from as little as R309 per month with a 150 MB data bundle included. The company stated that there will be no pre-registration for this device and that Apple fans will have to contact their closest MTN stores concerning its in-store availability.
Serame Taukobong, chief marketing officer at MTN SA, said that “Touted as one of the most innovative lifestyle mobile devices, the white iPhone 4 is a smartphone, lifestyle companion and digital assistant.”
“Additionally, our quality data and broadband offerings will give iPhone 4 customers unsurpassed access to the internet and their online applications.”
Customers using the iPhone 4 on MTN’s network can now access services like real-time balance checking as well as time-based data offerings and also load data bundles onto their devices in three ways. Recharging of data bundles can be done via till slips, vouchers or online top ups.
“At MTN, we understand that mobile communication needs are changing and, as a result, are exploring new products and services to ensure that we can provide customers with a steady stream of innovative phones that bring the mobile internet to consumer’s very own pockets,” concluded Taukobong.
MTN SA also made the HTC Flyer tablet PC available to its subscribers last month.
