Madfinger Games has released the official trailer for its upcoming Apple iOS and Android title, Shadowgun. It will be released on 28 September for the iPad, iPod touch and iPhone, as well as for Nvidia-powered smartphones and tablets, which are running on Android, shortly thereafter via the Tegra Zone.

Shadowgun will be amongst the first mobile games to be optimised for using Nvidia’s forthcoming Tegra 3 (dubbed Project Kal-El) system-on-a-chip (SoC), but there will also be a version for current Tegra 2-powered mobile devices. According to the Android and me tech blog, Shadowgun is constructed with the Unity 3D game engine, which means that the developers can easily adapt it and deploy it to the latest version of Adobe’s Flash Player for more gaming platforms.

Within this third person shooter gamers step into the boots of John Slade, the galaxy’s most infamous bounty hunter. Your mission is to hunt down Dr. Edgar Simon, a maniacal genius and leader of his own mutant army. Gamers must infiltrate Dr. Simon’s mountain fortress and fight his personal guard of cyborgs, battle droids, and genetically-enhanced humanoids. In order to do this they must employ advanced weaponry, ships, as well as the assistance of S.A.R.A., Slade’s personal robotic assistant.
