NAVIGON MobileNavigator updated
By Hanleigh Daniels 9 February 2010 | Categories: newsNAVIGON today announced an update to its MobileNavigator app for the iPhone, which also works on the iPod Touch.
The update brings three new features to MobileNavigator, the first being in-app connectivity to Facebook and Twitter. It does this via an icon that you tap in order to post your current position, destination and estimated time of arrival (ETA) to either social networking site, without closing the MobileNavigator app.
The second new feature is Panorama View 3D, which involves 3D in-map views obtained from NASA’s height and terrain data. Panorama View 3D allows for a precise orientation of your surroundings and provides you with digital landscape elevations for the terrain ahead of you. It is integrated in-map, independent from the phone’s data connection and will be available as an In-App purchase for $9.99 (approx. R77).
Lastly, there’s personalised route delivery via NAVIGON MyRoutes that is an intelligent direction provider. It analyses driving habits, patterns, location, time/day and provides up to three routes that are displayed in-map with ETA, distance and driving times for each.
MobileNavigator can be purchased for $79.99 (about R615) from the Apple App Store and features maps of South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland.
