Acer announced the availability of their 2009 range of mobile notebooks yesterday, 21 May 2009. The most exciting news was the announcement of its eye-catching Timeline series.

Focused on mobility, the series offers as much as 8 hours of battery life, in a less than 1\" thick form factor. There are three screen options to choose from including a 13.3\", weighing as little as 1.6 kg, a 14\" and 15.6\" model.

The notebooks also feature a Laminar Wall Jet Engine design which air-cools the processor and the notebook case. Basically you won’t get that hot-potato feeling on your lap when working away from your desk.

On the performance side you get an Intel Core2 Duo or Intel Core2 Solo processor, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD, DDR3 1066 MHz memory, and up to 500GB hard disk drive or up to 80GB solid state drive. All model feature a multi-touch touchpads to round things off nicely.

Set for launch in the next few weeks the series should prove very attractive to consumers.

[We will have an update on the pricing in the near future.]
