Before BlackBerry holding company Research in Motion (RIM) confirmed the existence of its Torch slider smartphone and announced the Curve 3G, BlackBerry fans were beginning to level criticism at the manufacturer for the slow trickle of new device announcements emanating from the company’s head office in Canada.

Despite this, it seems that RIM has been gearing up to make a number of new product announcements in the later half of 2010.

Boy Genius is reporting the existence of a leaked internal document which details a new addition to the company’s popular Bold line - the R020.

According to the document the device, which is scheduled to be announced in October, will feature a 624 MHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, a 2.44” display, full QWERTY keyboard, BlackBerry OS 6.0 and 32 GB MicroSD support.

The document also confirms that the R020 will sport a 5 megapixel camera, much like the Torch. This signals a departure by RIM from its previously standard 3.2 megapixel models to a snapper with a little more shine.

Other details behind the device are currently sketchy. RIM has yet to confirm the existence of the Bold R020.
