MTN South Africa has announced that it is giving away free airtime to the value of R120 to new customers. Subscribers that purchase an MTN Pay as you Go starter pack will receive R120 free airtime, over a period of a year, every time they recharge with R60 air time.

The R120 free airtime is spread over 12 months, meaning that the customer receives R10 per month. In order to get the R10 airtime the client is required to recharge with a minimum (non-cumulative) of R60 per month. This offer is valid for a year from the purchase of the starter pack and if a subscriber migrates out of this price plan anytime within the 12 months, they will lose this benefit.

“New MTN customers can now stay in touch with their family and friends for the whole year,” said Serame Taukobong, MTN SA chief marketing officer. “This is in addition to a bouquet of MTN products and services that seek to offer value, flexibility and response to customer needs”.

Other benefits include ten free daily call-backs, five free SMS for every 15 SMSs the customers sends as well as 30 free SMSs per month.

“The promotion is open from 01 Dec 2011 and ends on 20 May 2012. This is another way that MTN is allowing customer Ayoba to shine during this festive season,” concluded Taukobong.

In related news MTN also recently announced that it is revising its Me2U service offering due to the popular demand.
