Sony Ericsson announced that it will launch two more eco-friendly handsets (like the Sony Ericsson Naite we recently reviewed) early next year as part of its GreenHeart range.

The Elm, a slider phone, and Hazel, a classic slab phone, boast eco-friendly features as they’re built from recycled plastics, come with electronic manuals, utilise low power consumption chargers and offer all sorts of other environmentally conscious features. 

The phones offer solid specifications with both sporting a 5 megapixel camera with an LED flash, GPS with geotagging and HSDPA support. Pricing and availability of the phones is still to be announced for South Africa, but the Elm will be released internationally in Q1 2010 and the Hazel in Q2 2010.

Sony Ericsson also announced the release of its first GreenHeart accessory, the Bluetooth Noise Shield Handsfree VH700. The headset features a dual microphone “Noise Shield” that will apparently dramatically improve call quality. The VH700 is Sony Ericsson’s first step towards making all its accessories 100% GreenHeart. The headset will be available internationally in Q2 2010, but pricing and availability have not yet been announced from South Africa.
