New device friendly Fender Strat guitar launched
By Ryan Noik 20 November 2012 | Categories: newsSome interesting news emerged for musicians or those who are keen to wed the music creation capabilities of their iPad, Apple devices and Windows PC with a traditional guitar, as Fender has launched The Squier.
The Stratocaster guitar’s claim to fame is that it can directly connect with and record to users’ Apple iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or Windows-based PC. This is accomplished via the guitar’s integrated mini-USB connection.
According to the company, the guitar also features an onboard stereo headphone jack with volume control for use in USB/iOS mode, and requires no additional cabling other than what is supplied with the guitar.
Moreover, while the guitar can jam with digital devices, it has not abandoned its musical roots, and as such, has retained its ability to serve as a fully functional Stratocaster model that can be plugged into any amp.
To the point
At present, the only dampener on the news is that South African users at present have to resort to importing the guitar on their own. While the guitar is available through iStores Stateside, we have been told that the South African iStore cannot yet confirm local availability at this time. The good news is that the device has an asking price of a not too bad $200 (R1 760).
