New iPod nano may support movie playback
By Tom Manners 9 September 2010 | Categories: newsIn what we at TechSmart can only imagine to be a nefarious plot to take over the world using Apple devices, it has emerged that the company’s new iPad nano, which now comprises of a tiny touch-screen, may have video playback abilities.
According to unofficial Apple web blog TUAW, the device displays code in its internal settings property list which may enable it to handle TV subtitles, captions, a fit to screen option and alternate audio.
Although we’re unsure why anyone would want to watch video content on a 1.5” LED screen, we’re pretty sure that Apple may deliver this functionality to the device at some point during its product lifecycle.
Overall we’re incredibly impressed by the look and feel of the new nano, which is roughly the same size as Apple’s shuffle. It’s miniature touchscreen interface is almost futuristic in make-up and we can certainly see consumers attaching it to their wrists as a sort of music come watch hybrid in the near future.
