Nintendo 3DS design to stay the same
By Johan Keyter 13 July 2010 | Categories: newsWhen the Nintendo 3DS was unveiled at E3 this year Nintendo said the design wasn’t final, but it turns out that it was, more or less.
In an interview with Wired, the Nintendo 3DS’s platform producer, Hideo Konno, has confirmed the 3D handheld is now in its final shape.
This is not to say that there may not be a few small changes before release, especially under the skin, but the basic design should stay the same.
When asked whether a 3DS XL was in the works, Konno replied that they wanted to keep the design compact so people could carry it around and interact with other 3DS owners on the go.
This is not to say that different versions of the 3DS won’t be available at a later date. Nintendo is sure to make alternative editions available after release, as they did with the original DS.
