Nintendo 3DS fever in full swing
By Johan Keyter 30 September 2010 | Categories: newsYesterday we revealed that the Nintendo 3DS will be going on sale in Japan on 26 February and will be releasing to Western audiences a month later. Now let's take a look at the software and some other features that will be launching with the device.
As far as software goes, the 3DS is looking quite strong and it isn't even out of the starting blocks yet. The Nintendo 3DS will receive its own re-release of a classic Nintendo 64 game in the form of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. At launch Nintendo will also have other titles available such as Nintendogs + Cats, Pilotwings Resort and Steel Driver, all presented in pretty 3D of course.
Third-party developers are also stepping up to bat, with Capcom studios currently working on Super Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil titles for the 3DS. According to Kotaku, the company also recently announced that the infamous Mega Man will see a return in the new Mega Man Legends 3 Project for the hand-held.
“We have wanted to create a new instalment in this series for a number of years and it is great that we now have the opportunity to bring this title to the Nintendo 3DS,” said executive producer, Keiji Inafune.
Stealth fans can also look forward to Konami's Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D for some three dimensional sneaking action and 3D remakes for Star Fox 64, Paper Mario, Mario Kart and Animal Crossing are also rumoured to be in the pipeline.
The world's first 3D hand-held will also feature a web browser which Nintendo says is much more comprehensive than the one found on the DS. Players will be able to access the browser while they’re playing a game, allowing them to hop between the game and a web page quickly, perfect for checking those online FAQ's on the fly.
