According to MCV, Sony's upcoming “PlayStation Phone”, officially known as the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, will be launching with six full games pre-installed and ready to play.

It was confirmed that the titles available on the device will be FIFA 10, The Sims 3, Crash Bandicoot, Tetris, Star Battalion and Bruce Lee: Dragon Warriors, not just any old freeware in other words.

The device will have an additional 50 titles available for download via the PlayStation Suite, including a number of PSone games and new smartphone games optimised to run on the Android 2.3 running smartphone.

The handheld/smartphone hybrid will be powered by a 1 GHz Snapdragon CPU with a Qualcomm Adreno 205 GPU helping to add some graphical muscle.

A 4” 854 x 480 LCD display with 720p video recording and a 5 MP camera is also present, as well as microSD and SIM slots and a micro USB port.

The Xperia Play is the world's first fully certified PlayStation phone, and is releasing at the end of March “globally in selected markets”, meaning we'll have to see what is planned for a local release, but as these things go we'll probably have to wait a month or two extra.
