Samsung Galaxy tablet looks set to disappoint
By Tom Manners 16 August 2010 | Categories: newsRumours regarding the specifications behind Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy tablet PC are beginning to leak internationally in lieu of the expected device launch later this year.
Samsung Firmwares is claiming to have stumbled on an Android 2.2 build for the device, referred to as the P1000, which details a number of its specifications including processing details and screen resolution.
According to the website the Galaxy tablet will boast a resolution of 480 x 800 and will run using the same 1 GHz S5PC110 processor as found on the Galaxy S smartphone.
In addition to this it will also feature a 7” touchscreen interface, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and significantly Flash and JavaScript support.
Although the Galaxy tablet looks set to trump the iPad in the browsing department, it appears that it will fall short in terms of hardware. The iPad features a significantly more impressive 9.7” touchscreen interface with a resolution of 1024 x 768 while sporting Apple’s impressive A4 system on chip processor, which also offers 1 GHz of CPU power.
