Samsung Electronics South Africa is continuing to support the reigning Super 14 Rugby champions, the Vodacom Bulls, by being the official electronics sponsor to the team.
Through this sponsorship, this season, Samsung will be erecting a Samsung showcase at Loftus Versfeld for every game hosted by the Blue Bulls Company - where supporters will have the opportunity to experience Samsung’s LED 3D TVs first hand. In addition to this, throughout the Vodacom Super 15 and Absa Currie Cup rugby seasons, Samsung will be hosting a competition, “Meet Your Match With Samsung”, whereby fans will have the opportunity to win an assortment of prizes, including a chance to watch the Vodacom Bulls play live from the north west side on the actual field during all Vodacom Super 15 games hosted by the Blue Bulls Company. There is also a grand prize - a trip of a lifetime for the winner and a partner to go on tour with the Vodacom Bulls to New Zealand or Australia during the 2012 Super 15 rugby season.
“If we think back to the 1995 World Cup - which South Africa hosted and won - the world’s eyes were on us then and they have shuddered to blink since, whenever a South African team takes to the rugby field. In the spirit of this, we took up a three year sponsorship of the Vodacom Bulls in 2010 to create more synergy between the two brands that represent a much loved South African passed-time and the distinctive experience of watching South African rugby on a Samsung TV," said Corrie Labuschagne, product and marketing Manager for TVs at Samsung South Africa.
“Over the past year Samsung has demonstrated a great passion and commitment as our official electronics sponsor. As a brand, Samsung is one with depth and heritage that encompasses key attributes that are synonymous with the Vodacom Bulls’ family philosophy; trust, leadership and innovative thinking, and we are proud to have them on board,” says Blue Bulls Company CEO, Barend van Graan.
As reigning champions, the Vodacom Bulls are at the pinnacle of South African rugby with one of the largest fan bases. Concludes Labuschagne; “We are proud to be associated with such a well loved, proudly South African brand, which provides an enormous reach for this brand alignment.”
