Street Fighter X Tekken set to stun fighting gamers
By Johan Keyter 25 August 2010 | Categories: newsThe fighting game genre is set for a remarkable rejuvenation thanks to the amount of excitement that Capcom’s latest title, Street Fighter X Tekken, is awakening in fans of the series.
The studios responsible for two of the most iconic fighting games, Capcom for Street Fighter and Namco Bandai for Tekken, are each working on their own crossover game.
According to IGN, Capcom is producing Street Fighter X Tekken while Namco is working on Tekken X Street Fighter. Both games will pit characters from the respective universes against each other in their own unique combat style.
Street Fighter X Tekken is set to be released first and will be developed in the same style as previous Street Fighter titles, while Tekken X Street Fighter by Namco will bring the casts into the world of Tekken, meaning 3D combat arenas.
This all may be a little confusing at first, but it’s good to see two traditionally rival studios working together to bring fans the kind of games they’ve always dreamt of playing.
Recently the first in-game footage of Street Fighter X Tekken have been revealed, showing Ryu and Chun-Li from Street Fighter taking on Kazuya and Nina from Tekken. Check out the video below.
