Mobile development firm Kengin Consulting Inc. has launched a new application for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch that teaches users how to create their own applications.

Their innovative new application, called SDKtoday, is a result of the companies own experiences when developing apps for the Apple products.

Kengin CEO, Jacob Kennedy said, "When I was first learning how to make iPhone apps, I had to aggregate solutions from a variety of sources. There was no single place I could refer to that would provide me with everything that I was looking for.”

That’s when he decided to develop his self-teaching application. Users can download it, try out the tutorial options and decide if it fit their needs or not.

Creating such a far reaching application was not easy however, as Dennis Volovic, who collaborated with Kengin stated, “Conveying the depth and breadth of the tutorials in a way that is intuitive and scalable is not so straightforward.”

The breakthrough for the company came when their ‘S2C2’ (Start it, Stub it, Connect it and Complete it) methodology came together. The approach is so simple and innovative that they immediately started using it in their own personal app development.

The first three tutorials are available for free download and this introductory series will teach users the basics and also put them in a position to create their own apps.

There is a Store section of SDKtoday where users can purchase further tutorials covering more in-depth topics. SDKtoday 1.1 is available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Education category. It is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices running iOS 3.1. or later.
