The Via units comes with full voice controls and hands-free calling and has the TomTom HD Traffic service bundled free for the first year. This means users will always have knowledge of what's happening on the road ahead, as well as speed camera information, live weather updates and local Google search.

The Via range also makes due with an improved mount, including a foldable solution integrated into the device, with a 180 degree flip screen for easy mounting to any dashboard or windscreen.

The Via range is available locally in the guises of the TomTom Via LIVE 110, Via LIVE 120 and Via LIVE 125. The 110 doesn't include free LIVE services or Bluetooth like the other models, but both it and the Via 120 comes with improved South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland maps, and the Via 125 includes all Southern Africa maps.

“TomTom Via LIVE is designed to put the pleasure back into driving, with the knowledge of having the most advanced traffic information available packaged in a smart and simple to use device,” said Daan Hendrickx, country manager for South Africa.

The voice control function is especially useful as users can simply speak instructions to the device, making navigation safer and easier. “With voice control we've taken the hassle out of navigation and added powerful new features all of which add up to a more easygoing and enjoyable journey,” said Hendrickx.

The TomTom Via LIVE 120 and Via LIVE 125 includes one year of free LIVE services and is available at retail stores nationwide for R2 299 and R2 599 respectively, while the TomTom Via 110 without LIVE services is available from R1 999.
