The highly anticipated Wii Sports Resort will be officially launched in South Africa on July 24, bundled with the Wii MotionPlus add-on.

We enjoyed our first hands-on experience of the game yesterday at Core’s new flagship iStore in Sandton and are pleased to report that it looks set to live up to expectations.

Set on the fictional, tropical Wuhu Island the game features 12 sports games including Sword Play, Archery, Table Tennis, Wakeboarding and Frisbee. The WMP really adds a new dynamic to the Wii sports experience offering more accurate motion tracking.

The game, bundled with the WMP, will retail for R699.

In other Nintendo news the new Wii Fit Plus is due out in Q3/Q4 this year as well as a new Mario platforming game. Both games look impressive based on a sneak peak were received yesterday.
