In Cataclysm, the corrupted Dragon Aspect Deathwing has returned, and the world has been reshaped by the devastation left in his wake. In an effort to survive the planet-shattering cataclysm, two new playable races, the worgen, a feral wolf-like beast, and goblins (everyone knows goblins), join the struggle between the Alliance and the Horde. 

 

Players can now extend their journey to the new level cap of 85, meaning even veteran players have something to aim for. There are new locations like Uldum, Grim Batol, and the great Sunken City of Vashj'ir beneath the sea. A new secondary profession is available, archeology, that allows players to dig all over Azeroth to find hidden treasures. In the final battle of the game players will come face to face with Deathwing to determine the fate of the world.

 

"Cataclysm adds an incredible amount of new content for players to explore, revitalizing the game world and building on everything we've learned since World of Warcraft launched over six years ago," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment.

 

According to Graig Stroebel, regional manager for BT Games Pretoria, over a hundred people showed up for the midnight launch at the BT Games shop in Menlyn Park shopping centre. The place to be however was at the Centurion branch since a local guild was present, with members  dressed as their favourite night-elf or orc for an ongoing Cosplay competition.

 

The highly anticipated third expansion for the world's most popular subscription-based multiplayer online role-playing game is now on sale at BT Games stores countrywide for R275.
