Xbox 360 slim reports stellar sales
By Johan Keyter 20 July 2010 | Categories: newsAccording to Chart-Track, which monitors the sales of music, videos and software throughout the UK and Ireland, the new Xbox 360 is showing phenomenal sales.
The new and improved, ‘slimmer’ version of the Microsoft console has surpassed both the PS2 slim and PS3 slim in launch sales, selling well over 40 000 units since its July 16 debut.
While still a long way from conquering the Nintendo Wii, Microsoft is no doubt thrilled that its new Xbox 360 has become the best-selling ‘revised’ console of all time.
Chart-Track also pointed out that the new console has matched the sales rate of the original Xbox 360, which launched back in 2005.
The Xbox 360 ‘slim’ is more compact, comes with a 250GB HDD, built-in Wi-Fi and is reportedly whisper quiet, something current 360 owners will be happy about.
No word yet as to when we can expect a local launch, but check out our recent article on the issue if you want some more info about importing the console.
