After last week’s DIY Demotivationals challenge, BlackBerry’s Touch Awesomeness competition reaches the halfway mark and calls upon entrants to come up with a unique, amusing, awe-inspiring or out-of-this-world profile picture.

This week’s challenge - Pimp my profile pic

Like the name suggests, the latest challenge sees entrants creating their own profile photo. A lot of people already use photo editing software to enhance their own profile images and make themselves look like greek gods or supermodels on Facebook. However, this challenge isn’t limited to improving what is already there, but allows you to give free reign to those creative juices and come up with virtually any type of eye-catching design.

Completing this assigned task nets you ten points and although you are able to upload numerous ones, only the first one will result in the points register ringing up another ten points. A vote from other entrants also bring you one step (actually point) closer to driving away in that Audi A1.

Our experience

After delving deep within the furthest most regions of our subconscious, we met our little child selves and was reminded of his dream of becoming a rock star. So we decided to fulfill this childhood fantasy and designed our profile pic, once again using free GIMP image editing software.

Uploading it to the competition website took just a couple of seconds, and once uploaded we voted for our entry dubbed “I’m a rockstar”. Right after you have uploaded your photo, there is also the option to livin it up by adding some props to it including  glasses, wigs, and big comical lips etc. We chose not too so as to one up "the man" and keep things real, and in the process fall more inline with the true spirit of rock.

As with the previous challenges, voting for an entry puts a link up on your Facebook wall, enabling a user’s friends to assist them in upping the total vote (and points) tally for their profile pic.

About the BlackBerry Touch Awesomeness competition

BlackBerry’s browser-based Touch Awesomeness competition has entrants completing ten tasks of “Awesomeness” on a weekly basis, giving them a chance to net one of ten all-touch BlackBerry Curve 9380 smartphones. One of these sleek new offerings will be up for grabs each and every week.

Besides the chance to net an amazing new BlackBerry Curve smartphone, entrants will also earn a set amount of points for completing each week’s task. The person with the most points at the end of the ten weeks, will be able to park a brand new Audi A1 1.4 TFSI in their garage at home. Visit www.touchawesomeness.com to enter.
