While the Canon G series remains the definitive compact camera range, the new G11 could have done more to impress.
PROS
Better low light capabilities and ISO, HDMI port, includes RAW software and improved detail in shadow areas.
CONS
No HD video, tilt screen fails to impress, optical viewfinder a problem
VERDICT
The G11 is still the best compact available, but without HD video we would rather wait till the next model.
