There is nothing more liberating than flooring a racing car round a few kilometers of tar. But, liberation is not something that Mario Kart offers. The plastic of a Wii Wheel, the cheesy pseudo-Italian banter, the childish antics of shooting mushrooms at your opponents; it ’s just good fun. Don’t be fooled though, it’s still a race. You’ll find yourself searching every inch of every track to find a devious trick or a boost in speed to win at any cost. The Wii Wheel is a great edition to the game making the learning curve gentle. There is always more to these games, though, as you learn to build-up boost through bike wheelies or slipstreaming behind another kart. Just when you think you’ve got the game down something new comes along. This creates hours of entertainment which could be never ending with the addition of a 12-player mode, so try it online.
